In 2024, two friends and industry veterans, Barry and Jason, came together to launch 2Blue Hospitality, driven by a vision to redefine excellence in the industry. Their journey began in 2019 when Barry and Jason met and started working together in Lexington, KY, where they discovered a shared passion for transforming the hospitality landscape. Over the years, they frequently discussed the idea of starting a business together, guided by their shared personal and professional values.
Barry and Jason identified a gap for a consulting group that not only understood the nuances of the market but also genuinely cared about the success of their clients. Barry Kuhnke is an accomplished business professional with a BS Degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management from North Dakota State University and over two decades of general manager experience, spanning single properties to multi-property operations. An award-winning GM, Barry has worked with top brands, including Marriott, Hilton, and Independent hotels, excelling in hotel openings, brand conversions, and turning distressed properties into thriving, high-performing businesses. His diverse background includes leadership roles in extended stay, select service, full-service suburban, and full-service downtown convention center hotels.
Barry's results-driven approach focuses on optimizing hotel operations, increasing associate engagement, enhancing customer satisfaction, and driving revenue growth and profitability through strategic, data-backed initiatives. Known for fostering positive team dynamics, Barry builds strong relationships with his teams, owners, investors, and community partners. He has successfully managed a diverse range of operations, from single properties to multi-property portfolios, showcasing his versatility, depth of expertise, and operational excellence.
